UMHB play day was this past Thursday, which is suppose to be a day a rest and fun for students. Now although I can't say mine was that restful, it was fun in my opinion. I am not the type of person who enjoys being in large groups, so I decided to stay home and cook up some fun and yummy goodies. I spent the majority of my day baking and cooking for James. I know this sounds weird, but I love to cook, and I love it even more when I know the person I am cooking for, will absolutely love what I am making. There is also a second reason as to why i spent the day cooking, which is, James and I have ate out for the past two months straight and I am sick of it...lol. Anywho the first item that I made was actually dessert....and if you are a strawberry lover you have to have this, the dessert was Super Strawberry Pie!!! I had to make it early on in the day, so that it would be cold in time to have it that night. When I went to the store I actually did not know how many pounds of strawberries I would need, cause silly me, forgot to do the conversion of pounds to cups to pints before I left for the store so, so I actually was able to make two pies. One went to James and the other went to James' Parents house for his dad and sister. I do have to say, the pies turned out delicious. I only was able to eat a small piece on Thursday and I am regretting that fact now. All I want is another piece of that pie. I asked James to bring a piece to me at work today, but his response was come get it yourself, which is imposable till Monday.
Well back to what else I cooked. That night after James got off,and after I had time to do some homework,I cooked Lemon Chicken. This dish is one of James Dad's recipes and probably one of my favorites to cook and eat. If you love Chinese and Chicken, this would be a dish you would love. With the Chicken I paired corn and White Rice, both two of James favorite side items. As with the Pies it was delicious and hit the spot, after eating out so often. Sorry there are no pictures of this dish, I forgot to take pictures.
So as you can see, I did not play on play day, but still enjoyed the day. Yes you might have read I did some homework, which is against play day rules, but I had nothing else to do and just sitting around was driving me crazy. Some up date from my last blog. I got a 95 on my finance test I told you about, and attempted to talk to James about the M word. All I can say, is it went like I thought it would, and got the response I figured I would, which was, Sorry I don't think about that. If it was any other girl that got that response, they probably would be crazy mad, but I have learned James sometimes says things that are not true to hide what he is really feeling. I guess I am just going to have to continue to look for those hints, and listen for his slip of the tongue, like i have always done.
Okay, LOVE the picture! All you have to do now is change the text color. Mmmmm....that pie looks good!!!
