Emerson, Ivory, and Ice Cream

Today, my sister and I traveled to Brenhem to vista one of our close friends, one that you might as well call our older sister! You might ask why we drove all the way down there just too see a friend and the answer is, it is a half way point between Temple and Houston and it has Blue Bell Ice Cream! Ivory, our close friend, and her son, Emerson (that I clam as my nephew) are down from Kentucky visiting family and had to make sure they saw amanda and I before they left. We wanted an activity in which we all would enjoy and one that Emerson could tag along. I do have to say it was quite interesting to learn and see how Blue Bell makes their Ice Creaming and see the fresh ingredients that they put in their ice cream. One of the interesting things we learned is that if you buy Blue Bell icecream and it has a brown lid, opposed to a gold lid, you will pay a slightly higher price because it has more ingredients, such as fruit or cookie dough in it. Other interesting things that I learned today, was how big my Emerson has gotten. He was no longer the quite little baby, I once bottle feed, but now is instead he is a signing runner Amanda and I on our way to Blue Bell Ivory and Emerson with his hat Just being stupid.

After we had our Ice cream, we decide to get some lunch. We decided to eat at Casa ole, and arrive there around two o'clock, however, did not eat though until three o'clock, because of catch up talk. The only thing that reminded us that we need to order was Emerson, letting us know he was hungry. After eating we stayed and talked and played with Emerson a little while longer and then hit the road. I wish we could have had more time with them, but every one has busy lives. It is good know however, that no matter how long I go with out seeing or maybe even really talking to Ivory, we can spend five minute around one another and feel as a day has not passed since we last talked and feel comfortable with one another.

For the ride home, I entertained myself with a book from my favorite author, James Crawford. I am glad to say I am finally coughed up on his book, and I have loved every minute of it.

Summer...but no vacation

Wow it has be a while since i have wrote. I have been on the go a lot lately. May mini-mester went very well. I took Personal and Business finance and I have to say that it is probably the easiest class have taken in college. All that was required was that we have two articles a day and complete two open book, online test. (If classes in college can get easier then that, then I don't think it would be worth my time to take them.) Although I am glad that class was easy I kind of wish it was a little harder, to keep me in the mode of pushing myself, so that I would not find it so hard to motivate myself to work on the things for the two classes I am in this month. I am taking weight training and Global competition in business. Although most of you would say I don't need to work out, I disagree with you. I am way out of shape and need to get back in shape. I am hoping this class gives me the push I need to make working out part of my weekly life.

In other news I have had three interviews within the last month. Two were with the same employer and one was with a different employer. The most recent, which is at a b
ank said they would love to hire me, but said, they could not unless I switched my school schedule around in July were I do not have a class in the middle of the day. I was able to talk with the teacher who is teaching the class and he said we could work something out. I have e-mailed the person that I interviewed with, but have not heard anything back. I am keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that I can get this one because it is a personnel banker position and that is one of the things I have thought about doing with my degree after I graduate, and I want to see if it is something I would like doing.

Other then going to school, working, and having interviews, the most interesting thing I have done is lay by the pool side with james and tan. The other thing I guess worth mentioning is cooking dinner and baking for James. In the past month I have cooked Chicken fettuccini alfredo, Balsamic honey glazed pork chops, sweet and sour pork chops, home made pizza, puppy chow, strawberry pie, and just today Pecan dream bars, which I took up to james' work so they could have a sweet treat. Sorry to say the only picture of cooking I have is of me making the pizza. I just get so caught up in what I am doing I forget to take pictures. For me cooking is a stress reliever. Well I guess that is about it.

Some news on James for Mrs. Dr. Crawford. He has just finished writing the 12 chapter in his book, sadly to say I have only gotten to chapter 9, but what I have read is creative and very interesting. I know you will look forward to reading it. As you already know his bedroom at home is spotless!!! I promise to put picture of it on my next blog! And lastly he continues to look for a big boy job. I think not getting hired at HEB, discouraged him a little, but he is still looking for things he might be interested in, and applying to not all but some of them.
